Description
Maximo Robot
Product Overview
Maximo is an advanced classroom robot designed for students ready to explore more precise and structured motion control. Built on a four-wheel race-car style chassis, Maximo separates propulsion and steering into different mechanical systems, allowing students to program movement with greater accuracy and intention.
The rear wheels provide motor-driven propulsion while a servo motor controls the steering angle of the front wheels. This configuration mirrors real vehicle steering systems and introduces learners to more realistic robotic motion control.
Four-Wheel Performance Design
Maximo features a stable four-wheel platform designed for controlled movement and smooth navigation. The motor drives the rear wheels while the front wheels steer through a servo-controlled mechanism.
This structure allows students to experiment with how steering angles and motor power combine to produce precise turns and directional movement.
Servo Steering & Coordinated Motion
Unlike simpler robots that turn by varying wheel speeds, Maximo uses a dedicated servo motor to control steering. Students program the steering angle of the front wheels while controlling the speed and direction of the drivetrain.
This system introduces more advanced concepts in robotics such as coordinated actuation, controlled turning, and intentional navigation.
Powered by Code2Grow
Maximo programs through Windtree’s code2grow.com platform, which uses intuitive block-based coding tools designed for classroom robotics instruction.
Students can create programs that control speed, turning angles, and movement patterns while observing how code directly affects the robot’s behavior.
Built for Advanced Robotics Exploration
Maximo works well for robotics courses, engineering clubs, and advanced STEM activities where students are ready to move beyond basic motion and explore more sophisticated mechanical systems.
The combination of servo steering and motor-driven propulsion helps learners develop a deeper understanding of how real robotic and vehicle systems operate.
