Description

Gearworks Kit Series A

Product Overview

Gearworks Kit A is a mechatronics bundle that introduces students to gear systems, rotational motion, and mechanical power transfer through two distinct builds: the Twin Windmill and the Blender. Each model demonstrates how gears, axles, and motors work together to produce coordinated movement.

The kit emphasizes how a single motor and controller can drive different mechanical systems depending on the design and arrangement of components.

Two Mechanical Builds

The kit includes components to construct two separate models:

Twin Windmill – A vertical structure where gears distribute motor power to two spinning windmill fans, demonstrating synchronized rotational motion.

Blender – A mechanical build where a single motor drives two rotating blade assemblies through connected axles, showing how motion can be transferred to multiple outputs.

By building both models, students observe how similar components can produce different mechanical behaviors.

Motor & Controller System

Gearworks Kit A includes one DC motor powered and controlled by the C2G Microcontroller. The controller allows the motor to activate and drive each mechanical structure, creating visible motion through the gear systems.

The same motor and controller are reused between builds, reinforcing the idea that one electronic system can power multiple mechanical designs.

Hands-On Mechatronics Exploration

The Gearworks Kit A bundle helps demonstrate core engineering concepts such as:

  • rotational motion

  • gear-based power transfer

  • synchronized mechanical movement

  • motor-driven systems

Students can observe how mechanical design choices affect how motion is transferred and distributed throughout a structure.
