1.B.3. Students examine and reflect on the underlying causes of emotions. Students recognize the difference between emotions and feelings. Students work to label, with specificity, their feeling states.
Students will learn about colors and the correlation to emotion. Students will then create a work of art that elicits emotions they feel.
3.B.3. Students explore differences in emotional expression and communication norms across cultures and communities and how differences can contribute to misunderstandings, but also provide opportunity for growth. Students respond compassionately to others’ experiences and demonstrate care and concern.
Students will observe and discuss different artwork and also see how different artists use graphics to relay messages as well as how they will use graphics to attract viewers to understand the meaning of their art.

Students will engage in class discussions weekly in small groups and as a whole class to share their design process and final project.
