MU:Cr1.1.K With guidance, explore and experience music concepts (such as beat and melodic contour).
Students will delve into music theory beat & melody activities that will then be applied to sheet music that encompasses the music concepts.
MU:Pr4.2.K With guidance, explore and demonstrate awareness of music contrasts (such as high/low, loud/soft, same/different) in a variety of music selected for performance.
By navigating through a thoughtful selection of rhythm patterns and keyboard sheet music, students will become knowledgeable to dynamic music contrasts of high/low, loud/soft, and same/different music notes and patterns.
MU:Pr4.2.1 When analyzing selected music, read and perform rhythmic patterns using iconic or standard notation.
Students will evaluate rhythm patterns using standard music notation and will perform as a whole class and individually.
MU:Pr4.3.1 Demonstrate and describe music’s expressive qualities (such as dynamics and tempo).
Students will learn how the different dynamic markings associated with standard music notation adds expressiveness to music.

Students will evaluate rhythm patterns using standard music notation, melodic keyboard patterns and will perform as a whole class and individually.
